New WallWorks Mural by Madison Svendgard

Thanks to Madison for painting a great mural this summer!   This mysterious narrative intrigues us with a fantasy world of larger -than-life figures that seem to stand in the garden plantings.    Madison has a distinctive style and dedication to the her visual story-telling.   You can join this ongoing story with a great photo op in front of this mural!

New WallWorks artist Jeremy Johnson

Lincoln artist Jeremy Johnson has executed his largest painting ever, and probably his first outdoor mural, created for Constellation Studios ongoing WallWorks public art project.  This new addition to brings painterly atmospheric abstraction, a sense of voids and spheres, gestural drips and tendrils.    We all watched in amazement as Jeremy responded each day to his stenciling props of sticks and antlers, his energetic layering with spray and brush, as he responds intuitively to the paint and the surrounding at large.   Many passers-by were interested and engaged in dialogue with this intelligent and driven artist.   Jeremy holds an MFA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Great Progress on the Mural!

I want to thank all of you who have given a hand and enabled great progress to happen on my mural at Constellation Studios. It has come a long way, and looks amazing! Right now the weather is going to put a slow down on what can be done, until spring. Also, what is left  to do is up high and needs to be done from the scissors lift or ladders, and also so much yet needs my touch to do the blending and special color effects. So, keep watching and eventually I will get back to this huge project… it has been fun and consuming… with a great presence now on ‘O’ Street!
